Distributed Source-Channel Coding Using Reduced-Complexity Syndrome-Based TTCM
نویسندگان
چکیده
In the context of Distributed Joint Source-Channel coding (DJSC), we conceive reduced-complexity Turbo Trellis Coded Modulation (TTCM)-aided syndrome-based block decoding for estimating the crossover probability pe of the Binary Symmetric Channel (BSC), which models the correlation between a pair of sources. Our joint decoder achieves an accurate correlation estimation for varying correlation coefficients at 3 dB lower SNR, than conventional TTCM decoder, despite its considerable complexity reduction.

Low-Complexity TTCM Based Distributed Video Coding Architecture
Distributed Video Coding (DVC) is a promising coding solution for some emerging applications, where the encoder complexity, power consumption or memory requirements are constraint the system resources. Current approaches to DVC focus on improving the performance of the WynerZiv coding by improving the quality of the reconstructed side information or by improving the quality of channel codes. Up...

Turbo codes were a major milestone in the forward error correction codes which can even achieve an excellent bit error rates at low SNR. The original proposal was for the BPSK scheme but were soon successful with multilevel coded as well. The “Turbo Trellis Coded Modulation” (TTCM) employing two TCM codes as parallel concatenation of two recursive TCM encoder, and adapted puncturing mechanism t...
متن کامل4-PSK TTCM for Wyner-Ziv frame coding in DVC
This paper proposes a novel approach for the implementation of Distributed Video coding (DVC) using 4-PSK turbo trellis coded modulation (TTCM). We have adapted the TTCM concept for source coding by generating parity at the encoder and transferring the symbol mapping to the decoder. The parity bits are sent to the decoder with puncturing as in a turbo based DVC codecs and combined with side inf...

This paper presents a non-binary Turbo Trellis Coded Modulation (TTCM) decoder-based multidimensional 3-D (Maximum A Posteriori) MAP algorithm. The proposed system deals with Non-binary error control coding of the TTCM scheme for transmissions over the AWGN channel. The idea of Non-binary codes has been extended for symbols defined over rings of integers, which outperform binary codes with only...
متن کاملVLSI-implementation issues of turbo trellis-coded modulation
Turbo Trellis-Coded Modulation (TTCM) is a very promising approach for future communication systems. It combines the advantages of channel coding with multilevel signals and the powerful Turbo-Codes concept. In this paper we consider VLSI implementation aspects of TTCM. We show that techniques, known from binary Turbo-Decoders, can be applied to TTCM to reduce the implementation complexity sign...
